This swing combines the features of a swing with the features of a luxury recliner, and adds all the goodies a well thought out baby product should have.

The swing is light weight and folds like a sandwich, so its really easy to move around and take travelling with you. Its incredibly strong - I've carried the swing with baby in it, in and out of the house and even dragged the swing across the floor with baby in it and it's not shown the least bit of damage from the abuse. My 3 and 4 yr old have gotten into into it on occassion, too, and hasn't affected the swing either.

I really like the hammock style seating. Its really cozy, and fits my baby more naturally than sticking him in a traditional swing with a plastic molded seat. Ug! I had 2 different models of those - Graco, and Fisher Price, and the trays and leg-divider bars make it difficult to put a baby in and even worse to take the baby out (esp if he's asleep!!!) And if a really young baby falls asleep in a traditional seat, his head slumps forward and it doesn't look comfy or safe. I felt safe leaving my baby in this swing to sleep and some nights, it was the only way any of us got sleep!

There are 2 back positions - upright and flat. The flat is not really flat - about a 30 degree incline (which is GREAT for reflux or gas!). The upright is not really straight up, either, its like an adult recliner at that point.

The music is AWESOME! I had the Aquarium bouncer by FP and it played the same monotone music with bubble effect. But it got worn out and the bubbles didn't work and sounded awful, (my hubby had to disconnect the bubble feature!) and the music sounds really scary and warped when it starts to die. The Boppy music actually has several different catchy songs that you can actually identify individual insturments in! Its a mini symphony, not just one digital note after the other!

The battery life of this thing is unbelievable! I used this swing for hours every day and didn't need to change the batteries for 2 months!! It has a really awesome feature that keeps the swing swinging at the same level even as your baby gets heavier! All the other swings I've ever had didn't do that. By the time my other babies were 6 months old, they'd outgrown the swing - they were too heavy to get good swing and it ate up batteries quickly. This thing has really gentle, to really exciting speeds and is unaffected by how heavy your baby gets.

You can set the timer to automatically shut the swing off after so many minutes, or just turn it on and it still shuts itself off after half an hour (? I think). The motor is SO quiet, I remember the first swing I got had a motor that started creaking as it got older till finally it was unusable b/c I thought it would crack while my kid was in the swing! Bluh.

As for getting out of the swing, my baby is 10 months old, and he starts out laying back, then sits up and then kind of tips himself out the swing all by himself. Its NO BIG DEAL because the swing is so low to the ground he's actually safer falling out of that than falling off his own feet. There is plenty of room between the swing arm and the bars, so there is no chance of your kid getting any body parts trapped anywhere, if he gets out, he won't get hurt (unless he bumps his head on the bar - but that's not going to kill any one.)

Oh, there's also a really neat lock feature so the swing doesn't swing, but is just a chair. This is usefully when taking baby in or out, or if you want to feed him in it - its not so wiggly.

Well, I hope this helps, I've had 2 other traditional swings, 2 bouncers, and just a vibrating/rocking baby seat. This one kicks BABY BOOTY!! I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT, its the one baby item I wish I had with my older 2 and will give as a gift to all new mommies. :)
love it

My baby boy (5 weeks old, 10 lbs) and I love this swing. It's low-profile, nice to look at, and quiet. The pleasant music is optional. You can set it to swing for 8, 15, 30, or 45 minutes. It has many speed settings; the slowest is a good, gentle speed, and the fastest is good too. It has a 5-pt harness (or you can forgo the shoulder straps and use it as a 3-pt harness). It's light and folds up nice and flat. Seems very sturdy. I can't comment on the ease of assembly because my dad put it together, but he didn't seem to have any trouble. I put the baby in it this morning and for the first time I actually had a few fuss-free minutes to take a shower. I definitely recommend this swing.

The one thing I would change is the activity bar... it's adjustable, but the toys don't seem to be able to go low enough and far enough away from the baby's head to be amusing to him. Then again, maybe he's too young to take interest in them.
EXCELLENT Travel Swing!

Compact.
Easy to fold & store.
Easy to get baby in/out.
Good safety features.
QUIET swing.
Good battery life.
Entertaining features reasonable (toys, music).
Works easily, once you get to know it.

This is my first swing (never wanted big, bulky, noisy, or hard-to-store model). I'm on my third baby, who is 6 weeks and ~ 8lbs as of this review. I have had the swing less than a week.

I read LOTS of reviews, and what I found was that there are a few tricks/tips for using the swing:
1. The reference to the baby sitting up too straight might be someone trying to half-fold the seat (as in when you store it). There are two buttons (one on each side) of the seat that you push to TILT the rocker flat or up to about 45 degrees. You can fold the back of the rocker up, and this would definitely set the baby too far forward up (and did not seem safe or secure to me!).
The other reference for baby's head to chest? Well, if the infant is small enough, yes, that can happen. I have a bouncy seat, and it does the same thing. I'm able to position my NEWBORN in such a way (with the pillow behind her shoulders) to help her lay/recline better.
2. Batteries seem to work great! The battery case IS hard to get open and closed, but seems secure. I have had the auto shut-off stop the swing, and I didn't know it was still on. I can imagine if a button were pushed, etc. this would restart the swing and that would drain batteries without my knowing.
3. Auto shut-off at 45 min is annoying, but it does save battery power. Can program for 8, 15, or 30 minutes, but would be nice if the auto were a little longer.
4. Music is soft, has 2 settings, but reasonable. (i.e. perfect for a noisy house, but not annoying).
5. Color scheme, and "comfort" of materials are great. I LOVE that it is machine washable!!!
6. EXTREMELY QUIET MOTOR! I can't even hear it if the other kids are in the room. Someone had a problem with the motor not swinging, and the one time I did, I realized I'd left the "lock" button pushed in.
7. DURABLE! My 2-year old loves to "help" my infant "swing" and I've seen her hang on it. The swing function stops while she's hanging on, or if the swing is moved/bumped (even a little). My four-year-old is able to turn the dial to start the swing, and both older girls love to push the buttons on the front. This will turn on music, but does little else (unless the dial is also turned).

I STRONGLY recommend this swing if you're looking for a portable one. It is light-weight, easy to use (once you get the "tricks" down), and works GREAT. Quiet, washable, rocks gently to somewhat vigorously, easy to install, and does well.

I am looking forward to using this more, and seeing how my baby will grow into it more.
Super Swing

I bought this swing for my second child. For my first we had a full size swing, but I wanted to try a travel swing, because I didn't like the bulkyness of the full size one.

This swing is absolutely the best. My daughter loves it. The speeds are just right. I like that it is so compact and portable. I have been taking it with me when I go to visit people, instead of taking a bouncer or anything else. It folds down relatively well for travel. It has been great! I have recommended it to my family and friends, and have found it worth every penny.
Amazing swing- a true life saver!

I have never written a product review before, but I have never loved a product as much as I love this swing. My husband and I actually bought this swing the night before our baby was born. We found it at a consignment shop, and it was such a great deal that we decided to just go ahead and get it- even though I had not read the reviews on it. I normally research a product and read every review on Amazon, Target and Babies R Us before I buy something for the baby, but I decided to take a risk on this swing. I'm so glad I did- it was the best thing we have bought for the baby so far! I love it so much, I had to write a review so others could know how amazing this swing is. My newborn LOVES the swing- in fact, he sleeps better in the swing than he does in his crib! It has saved us many a night when he was inconsolable, and we put him in the swing, and he would be lulled to sleep and we would finally be able to get some sleep ourselves. It has an automatic shut-off and music. The battery power seems great- we have had it for 3 weeks, and who knows how long the batteries have been in there, since we bought it used and it came with the batteries. The speed of the swing is really great, and it really does adjust well to my baby's size. I usually put a blanket underneath my baby and that has seemed to help keep the shape of his body comfortable- I haven't used the head pad-thingy because it pushes his head too much forward and it seems awkward. I also took the toy bar off for now, because he sleeps better without it. Although there have been a few times when he was really alert and he just stared at and studied the cute little toys. I love that it folds so we can take it with us when we travel. I have told all my friends who are having babies that they need to get this swing. I also love that it doesn't look so baby-ish, it is nice neutral colors, it is small and low and not so intrusive like those huge swings- so as shallow as it sounds, it goes well with our decor and it doesn't make our living room seem like baby-land. This swing is just amazing. Even though we bought it for [...] bucks at a consignment shop, knowing what I know now, and how it has allowed me sleep on the nights where the baby was screaming every 20 minutes, I would pay any amount of money for it. Getting a couples hours of sleep when you haven't slept in days is worth any price, and I can feel confident that he is safe, content and comfortable while I sleep. Being well-rested has helped me be a better mom, and has made the first 3 weeks bearable so far. So I just wanted to let you know that it is so worth every penny and the best swing ever.
